What is the Toloma 5K?
The Toloma 5K is a community-centered run/walk honoring Native American programming while celebrating wellness, culture, and connection. The event brings together the UC Merced campus and the greater Merced community for a morning of movement and meaningful engagement.
When and where is the Toloma 5K?
Date: Saturday, March 21
Race Start Time: 8:00 AM
Location: UC Merced Practice Field (next to the soccer field)
When is Check in/Bib pick up?
Date: Saturday, March 21
Time: 7:00am-8:00am
Location: UC Merced Practice Field (next to the soccer field)
Who can participate?
The Toloma 5K is open to all—students, faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the Merced community of all experience levels.
Is this a race or a fun run?
The Toloma 5K is a non-competitive run/walk. Participants are welcome to run, jog, or walk at their own pace.
Do I need to register in advance?
Advance registration is encouraged to secure your spot and t-shirt, but same-day registration will be available on March 21.
How much does registration cost?
Registration pricing is as follows:
Early Bird: $20 (through February 1)
General: $25 (after February 1)
Same Day: $30 (March 21)
What does my registration include?
Your registration includes:
A Toloma 5K t-shirt
Access to the vendor fair, featuring local businesses and community organizations
Participation in the 5K event
Will there be activities besides the run?
Yes! Participants can enjoy a vendor fair during the event, highlighting local businesses and community organizations.
Is the route accessible?
We aim to make the Toloma 5K welcoming and accessible. Participants who may need accommodations are encouraged to reach out in advance so we can best support their participation.
What should I bring on the day of the event?
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and athletic shoes. Water and event support will be available on-site.
What happens if it rains?
The event will take place rain or shine. Any updates or changes will be communicated via the EJIE website.
Parking information
Free on-campus parking will be available in Bellevue lot.
Can I bring pets?
Yes, pets are welcome. We kindly request that pets are always on a leash and that their owners clean up after them.
Stroller policy:
Strollers are welcomed.
Can I bring a group?
We welcome all track teams, running clubs, or organizations to run together.
