Gaby is a student coordinator at the Monarch Center and has consistently proven to be a reliable, hardworking, and friendly face to all who come to the center. In her role, Gaby has become the go to person for confirming food orders, supply orders and ensuring that numerous events at the center go off without a glitch. She shows up prepared and organized and goes above the call of duty.
Gaby has also taken on more roles by helping to administer the centers Student Success Funds. This resource allows undocumented students to apply for funds when they find themselves in emergency situations. Given Gaby’s continuous and consistent commitment to prospering the goals of the Monarch Center, she has become the primary person who reviews these applications and then reports back to her supervisor. This role calls for confidentiality which Gaby has always demonstrated and continues to do so.
Additionally, I have personally seen Gaby take extra efforts to welcome new faces and personally engage with students who are new and in need to of support. She engaged with them in a loving and warm demeanor which helps promote inclusivity and a sense of community and belonging. She has excelled in her role as a student coordinator and as she approaches graduation this May, I believe she would be the perfect recipient of this award.
