Dear Campus Community,
We have officially crossed the one-year mark of navigating the COVID-19 pandemic, and as some continue their work remotely and we all continue to navigate the added stressors resulting from the pandemic, it is as vital as ever that our community continues to have access to resources that encourage wellness and self-care. Thanks to the support of Chancellor Muñoz and Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Camfield and in partnership with IT and Dr. Suzanne Sindi, we are excited to share with you the renewal of the Calm App for another year for our entire campus community. In a recent survey of more than 12,000 Calm app users, participants who used the Calm app just 1-2 times per week reported improvements in mental health (72%), reduced stress levels (68%) and better sleep quality (58%).
We encourage and invite you to give this helpful resource a try if you have not already. Want to help foster a sense of calm among your peers and colleagues? Use one of these ideas or email templates to host a meditation moment in your next meeting or invite others to the app.
With you,
Dania Matos, J.D.
Associate Chancellor and Chief Diversity Officer
